Un dispositif qui fait fondre la glace et la neige au niveau des aiguillages.

Un élément chauffant, généralement alimenté par l'électricité ou le gaz naturel, installé directement sur les rails au niveau d'un aiguillage. Il empêche la neige et la glace de s'accumuler entre l'aiguille et le contre-aiguille, ce qui empêcherait sinon l'aiguillage de se fermer complètement et provoquerait un déraillement ou une panne de signalisation.
