A festooning machine lays the strip in neat zigzag layers, often many thousands of meters per box, so a converting line can run far longer between material changes than it would on a pancake roll. It suits narrow, light hygiene components such as leg cuffs and ears. Fold quality, box weight and splice placement are the main quality checks.
Leg cuff material comes in festoon boxes, so the diaper line only changes material twice a shift.
