Layers can be joined with hot-melt adhesive, by thermal calendering, by ultrasonic bonding or by extrusion coating molten polymer onto the fabric. Laminates combine properties no single layer offers, such as a liquid-proof breathable film with a soft fabric face for diaper backsheets. Peel strength between layers is the main quality test.
Lamination peel is under 1 newton at the edges, so the glue pattern is too narrow.
