Load ticket

nounStandard termAsphalt

The printed slip that travels with every truck showing mix type, tonnage, time and plant data for that load.

A scale ticket printed at the plant for each truckload, listing mix type, gross, tare and net weight, load time, truck number, and often project number and discharge temperature. The dump man or inspector collects tickets at the paver to tally tonnage against yield and to check how long each load sat on the road. Tickets are pay documents, so missing or unsigned ones turn into arguments at the end of the month.

Heard on the job

Grab the load ticket off every truck, inspector wants the load time written next to the station.

Insider tip

Inspectors compare the time on the ticket with arrival time, and a load printed two hours earlier gets its temperature shot before it goes in the hopper.
