A specialized presser foot used on sewing machines to evenly bunch up fabric as it is sewn. By controlling how the fabric feeds under the needle, it creates consistent, tightly spaced gathers. Some advanced gathering feet allow the user to sew a flat piece of fabric to a gathered piece simultaneously.
