A support tool or fixture used by glassblowers to catch and protect a finished glass object at the moment it is cracked off the punty. It prevents the hot, fragile piece from dropping onto the bench or floor before it can be safely transferred to the lehr for annealing. The term also refers to an informal, playful glass object made by a worker at the end of a shift.
