A backup camera is a wide-angle video lens mounted on the rear of a vehicle, usually near the license plate or tailgate handle. It transmits a live feed to the dashboard display whenever the transmission is shifted into reverse. The system often overlays dynamic grid lines on the screen to indicate the vehicle's projected path and distance to obstacles, eliminating the rear blind spot.

The backup camera screen just shows static when I put it in reverse, so check the wiring harness at the trunk hinge.
