CCS1 (Combined Charging System 1) is a standardized electric vehicle charging connector that combines a standard J1772 AC plug with two high-speed DC pins below it. This design allows a single port on the vehicle to accept both Level 1/Level 2 AC charging and Level 3 DC fast charging. It is the primary fast-charging standard for non-Tesla EVs in the North American market.
We need to swap the cable on that station because the CCS1 connector has a broken latch.
Do not mix it up with
- CCS2: CCS1 is used primarily in North America and builds on the J1772 plug, while CCS2 is used in Europe and builds on the Mennekes Type 2 plug.
