Right side. The intended public-facing surface of a fabric or garment. In knitting and sewing patterns, this abbreviation tells the maker which side of the work should be facing them when executing a specific row or seam.

Always mark the RS with a locking stitch marker or a piece of scrap yarn as soon as it becomes distinguishable, so you do not accidentally reverse your pattern logic.
