A telephony feature that automatically redirects incoming calls to a different designated number.

A switch-level or PBX function that intercepts an inbound call directed to a specific extension and routes it to an alternate destination. This can be configured to happen unconditionally, or conditionally based on whether the original line is busy or unanswered. It requires the switching equipment to maintain state and perform a secondary routing lookup.
