A legacy telecommunications signaling architecture where the control signals for routing and managing a call are transmitted within or alongside the same physical channel as the voice audio. Examples include in-band DTMF tones or robbed-bit signaling on T1 lines. It is less efficient and less secure than out-of-band methods, as users can potentially manipulate the signaling tones.
We need to convert this old T1 from CAS to PRI so we can get proper caller ID and out-of-band signaling.
