Describes a brick after pressing but before firing, or a monolithic lining after placing and curing but before its first heat-up. Green material holds its shape through green strength from binders, cement hydrates or moisture, but has not developed its fired bond. Green linings are vulnerable to freezing, rain, impact and fast heating.
Lining is still green, nobody stands on that floor or runs a forklift over it until after the dry-out.
