Squeegee

nounStandard termPrinting

A flat rubber or polyurethane blade set in a handle, used to force ink through a screen mesh.

A hand tool or automated press component featuring a flexible, precisely angled blade. In screen printing, the operator drags it across the stencil to shear the ink and force it through the open mesh onto the substrate below. The durometer (hardness) and edge profile of the blade dictate how much ink is deposited.
