Trim-out, also called finish, comes after drywall, paint and often flooring: devices are installed and terminated, cover plates fitted, light fixtures hung, panel breakers landed and labeled, and every circuit tested before final inspection. It is cleaner work than rough-in but punishes every earlier mistake, from buried boxes to short conductor tails.
Painters are out of unit 4, so we trim out tomorrow, bring white plates and a case of decora switches.
