Sideform

nounStandard termConcrete

A rigid edge barrier used to define the perimeter and thickness of a concrete slab.

Temporary edge forms set exactly to the final grade of a slab or pavement. They contain the wet concrete laterally and serve as guide rails for screeding equipment. In slipform paving, sideforms are attached directly to the moving machine instead of being staked to the ground.

Heard on the job

Stake the sideforms tight and check the stringline, the laser screed rides right on them.
