Slab

nounStandard termConcrete

A flat, horizontal expanse of cast concrete used as a floor, roof, or pavement.

A broad, relatively thin structural element made of concrete. Slabs can be suspended between beams in a high-rise, cast directly on the ground for a warehouse floor, or heavily reinforced for bridge decks. They require careful mix design and finishing to control cracking and ensure a flat surface.
