Dual cartridge

nounStandard termAdhesives

A twin-barrel package that holds both parts of an adhesive and pushes them through a static mixer in fixed ratio.

Side-by-side or coaxial cartridges, from about 25 to 600 milliliters, sized to give ratios such as 1:1, 2:1 or 10:1, fit manual, pneumatic or battery guns. The fixed barrel sizes set the ratio, removing weighing and hand mixing. Before attaching a mixer, operators bleed both sides evenly so neither component leads.

Heard on the job

Level the dual cartridge before the mixer goes on, the hardener side's lagging and the first bead will be off.
