The mixer contains a stack of helical or square elements that repeatedly split and fold the two streams, so the adhesive leaves fully mixed. Element count, diameter and length are matched to viscosity and ratio. When dispensing stops longer than the pot life, the adhesive cures inside and the mixer is thrown away. The first few grams through a new mixer are always wasted.
Static mixer set up solid over break, pop a new one on and purge before the next part.
Element count matters: a mixer too short for the viscosity or ratio gives marbled, soft beads even with perfect ratio.
