Having uneven or bark-covered edges from being milled near the outside of a log.

Describing lumber, particularly planks or flitches, that exhibit wane along their length. Waney boards retain the natural contour of the tree trunk. The term is heavily used in the timber trade to specify unedged slabs intended for natural-looking furniture.
