Bifold

nounStandard termWoodworking

A door or window assembly made of two hinged panels that fold flat against each other.

A closure system consisting of paired panels connected by hinges, often sliding along a top track. As the unit opens, the panels fold inward or outward in a V-shape, saving floor space compared to a standard swinging door. They are heavily used for closets, laundry alcoves, and wide exterior patio openings.
