Describes a mechanical problem, damaged part or repair job that is exceptionally ugly or difficult.

A descriptor for physical damage, rust, or fabrication work that looks terrible and will be difficult to fix. Workers apply it to heavily corroded bolts, mangled sheet metal, or amateur welding jobs that require extensive rework. It implies that the task ahead will require brute force, heavy grinding or complete replacement.
