Fly-in, fly-out employment where workers travel to remote mine sites for rostered shifts.

Fly-in, fly-out is a work arrangement common in remote mining operations. Personnel are flown to the site, housed in a camp for a set block of consecutive work days, and then flown back to their home city for a block of rest days. This model avoids building permanent company towns near short-lived or highly isolated ore bodies.
