A calibration restricted to the ranges, functions or test points the user actually needs, or to those the instrument still meets, with the limitation spelled out on the certificate and on a distinct limited calibration label. Labs use it to save time on a multifunction instrument used on one range, or to keep a partly failed unit in service on its good functions. Users must read the label before relying on any other function.
Send it out as a limited cal, DC volts only, the AC section is OOT above 10 kHz.
A limited cal sticker nobody reads is how a failed AC range ends up measuring product; train operators to look for it.
