Round robin

nounShop talkMetrology

An interlaboratory comparison in which one artifact or sample travels from lab to lab to be measured by each.

Shop name for an interlaboratory comparison where a single stable artifact or sample set circulates among participating labs, each measuring it and reporting a value with uncertainty. The pilot lab measures it at the start and end to check for drift in transit. Results are compared with En numbers or similar scores, so a round robin both tests individual labs and reveals reproducibility across them.
