Cal due

nounShop talkMetrology

The date by which an instrument must be calibrated again, printed on its sticker and tracked by the recall system.

Shop shorthand for the calibration due date, calculated from the last calibration date plus the assigned interval. Instruments past cal due are pulled from use, and grace periods are granted only through a formal extension signed by quality. The recall system usually flags items 30 days ahead so they can be swapped out without stopping production.
