A seam presser is a heavy, towed roller or set of cast-iron wheels designed to trail behind a plough. Its primary function is to firmly pack down the crests of freshly turned soil furrows, known as seams. This consolidation prevents moisture loss from the loose soil, crushes large clods, and creates a firmer, more uniform seedbed for subsequent drilling operations.
Hook the seam presser up behind the mouldboard so we don't lose all the soil moisture to this wind.
