Smurf tube is electrical nonmetallic tubing (ENT), a flexible corrugated PVC raceway that goes in like garden hose and bends without tools. It is used concealed in walls, cast into concrete slabs and decks, and above ceilings where permitted, joined with snap-on or glue fittings. Its bright blue, close to the cartoon Smurfs, gave the name, and saying smurf also avoids mixing up ENT and EMT over the radio.
Deck pours tomorrow, get the smurf tube tied to the rebar every three feet or it floats when the concrete hits.
