Wiring loom

nounStandard termAutomotive

A bound collection of electrical wires routed together to distribute power and signals across a vehicle.

Functionally identical to a wiring harness, this term is more commonly used in British and Commonwealth automotive contexts. It describes the complete assembly of wires, terminals, and protective sheathing that links the vehicle's electrical components. The loom keeps the complex electrical system organized and prevents loose wires from snagging on moving mechanical parts.
