Certified Welding Inspector, a credential earned by passing exams on welding fundamentals, practical inspection and a code book, backed by documented work experience. CWIs verify materials, procedures, welder qualifications, fit-up, preheat and finished welds, and sign inspection reports. A CWI does not perform UT or RT without separate NDE certification in those methods.
CWI wants to see the WPS and your cert before you strike an arc on this job.
