Pipe welding test position in which the pipe axis is inclined 45 degrees and fixed, so the welder works through flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead going around the joint. It is the hardest unrestricted pipe test and qualifies a welder for all positions on pipe and plate, within the code's diameter and thickness ranges. The 6GR version adds a restriction ring that crowds the joint.
Took the 6G with a TIG root and 7018 out, all four bend coupons came back clean.
