Leakguard

nounStandard termTextiles

A waterproof or stay-dry fabric gusset sewn around the leg openings of absorbent garments.

This protective barrier is constructed using elasticated, water-resistant synthetic materials like polyurethane laminate. It forms a tight inner cuff against the wearer's skin to contain fluids within the absorbent core of a diaper or reusable menstrual pad. Manufacturers sew these channels along the edges to prevent wicking and physical leaks during movement.
