Time diversity

nounStandard termTelecom & IT

A transmission technique that sends the same data at different times to overcome temporary signal fading.

A method of improving signal reliability by transmitting the same information multiple times with a specific time delay between transmissions. If a burst of interference or a deep fade corrupts the signal during one time slot, the receiver can often recover the data from a subsequent transmission. It is highly effective against transient noise but reduces overall data throughput.

The link suffers from fast fading, so we enabled time diversity to ensure the packets get through intact.
