Vestigial Sideband (VSB) is a modulation method that transmits one full sideband and only a small remnant, or vestige, of the other. This saves bandwidth compared to double sideband transmission while being easier to filter and demodulate than single sideband. It is the standard modulation used for analog television video broadcasts and the ATSC digital television standard.
