A respin is a new revision of a board sent out for fabrication because the last one had errors or needs changes that rework cannot cover. Each respin costs fabrication, assembly and calendar time, often two to six weeks, so teams patch what they can with blue wires, batch the changes and spin again only when they must. Avoiding respins is a big reason for design reviews, simulation and careful footprint checks.
Too many bodges on rev A to ship it, we need a respin, freeze the change list by Friday.
