Wraps happen on card rolls, licker-ins, calenders and guide rolls when static, sticky finish, heat or a web break makes fibers cling. A small wrap grows quickly and can jam the roll or mark the fabric. Operators cut wraps off only with the roll stopped and locked out, and trace repeat wraps back to finish, humidity or roll surface.
Calender wrapped twice on start-up, the pattern roll was too hot for the first few meters.
Never try to pull a wrap off a turning roll; card and calender wraps are a classic cause of hand injuries.
