A boot is a sleeve of sheet fitted over the pipe and extrusion welded to a flat skirt, which is welded to the liner; the sleeve end is clamped to the pipe with a stainless band over sealant, or welded straight to it when the pipe is HDPE. It is the most labor-intensive detail on a liner job and a frequent leak point, so it gets full vacuum box or spark testing. Prefabricated boots are available for standard pipe sizes.
Pipe boot on the sump riser is leaking at the band, so pull the clamp and reseal it.
