A method of loading attack hose in a transverse bed, usually located just behind the cab and above the pump panel. The hose is packed side-to-side rather than front-to-back, allowing a single firefighter to grab the nozzle and pull the line straight out from either side of the apparatus. This setup is favored for rapid deployment on residential fires.
