Fill site

nounStandard termFire & Safety

A designated location where water tenders are loaded with water to transport to a fire.

A staging area set up at a water source to rapidly fill empty mobile water supply apparatus. A pumper is usually stationed at the site to draft water from a static source or connect to a high-capacity hydrant, pumping it through large-diameter hoses into the arriving tankers. Efficient operations at this location dictate the overall flow rate available at the fireground.
