TCON

abbreviationStandard termElectronics

A timing controller is an integrated circuit that dictates the precise row and column addressing for a display panel.

Short for timing controller, this chip sits between the video source and the display matrix. It takes the incoming video signal and generates the complex, high-speed clock and control signals required by the source and gate drivers to refresh the pixels. Without a TCON, the raw video data cannot be mapped onto the physical grid of an LCD or OLED screen.

The screen is tearing right down the middle, so check the LVDS signals going into the TCON.
