Plasma Display Panel. A type of flat-panel screen where each pixel consists of tiny pockets of noble gases trapped between two glass panels. Applying a high voltage turns the gas into a plasma, emitting ultraviolet light that excites red, green, and blue phosphors to produce a visible image.
