A historic unit of measurement used in the glass trade to quantify imported Rhenish glass.

A historic trade unit used specifically for importing and selling bulk glass from the Rhine region. One way equalled sixty bunches of glass. It helped standardize large shipments of window glass and drinking vessels before standardized weights became the norm in the international glass trade.

The ledger shows we received a way of Rhenish glass, but half the bunches were shattered in the hold.

Because Rhenish glass was often shipped in nested bunches, buying by the way was the standard method for glaziers securing bulk material for large commissions.
