A straight edge or guide used to level poured concrete or plaster.

A stiff, straight tool used to strike off excess wet concrete or plaster to bring the surface to the desired grade. The term also refers to the leveled strips of material or rails set up beforehand to guide the straightedge. Power screeds vibrate as they are pulled across a slab to help consolidate the mix while leveling.
