Modular building

nounStandard termBuilding

A construction method where large volumetric sections of a structure are built off-site.

Modular building involves fabricating complete room-sized units, or modules, in a climate-controlled factory before transporting them to the construction site. These modules arrive with plumbing, electrical, and finishes already installed. Cranes then stack and connect the units on a prepared foundation, drastically reducing on-site construction time and weather delays.
