A triangular, hinged glass panel located at the forward edge of the front door windows on older vehicles. Before air conditioning became standard, these were manually pivoted outward to scoop outside air and direct it straight into the passenger compartment, or angled slightly to draw stale air out.

The latch on the driver's side ventipane is broken, so it whistles loudly at highway speeds.
