Head-on

adjectiveStandard termAutomotive

A collision where the front ends of two vehicles strike each other directly.

A type of crash in which two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collide front to front. It is one of the most destructive types of accidents because the closing speed is the sum of both vehicles velocities. Structural damage is usually catastrophic, heavily involving the front crumple zones, bumper reinforcements, and engine bay.
