This continuous loop of webbing anchors at three points, crossing the hips to secure the pelvis and diagonally across the chest to restrain the upper body. The design distributes crash forces across the strongest bones of the human body, the pelvis and the ribcage. It prevents the occupant from being ejected and stops the torso from violently folding forward into the dashboard or steering wheel.
Make sure the lap sash seatbelt isn't twisted in the retractor or it will jam when you try to pull it out.
