Halo headlight

nounStandard termAutomotive

A headlight assembly featuring a luminous ring around the main projector bulb.

A halo headlight uses a circular light-emitting element, typically LED or cold cathode fluorescent, bordering the main headlight projector. Originally introduced as a distinctive daytime running light signature for luxury European cars, it has become a highly popular aftermarket cosmetic upgrade. The rings provide visibility to oncoming traffic without throwing a full beam.
