Fanny pad

nounShop talkAutomotive

A small, unsprung passenger seat mounted directly to the rear fender of a motorcycle.

A minimalist pillion pad bolted or suction-cupped directly to a motorcycle's rear fender to accommodate a passenger. Because it lacks its own springs or suspension linkage, the rider feels every bump transmitted through the frame. Custom builders often use them on bobbers and choppers to keep the rear profile clean while still offering a temporary seat.

Heard on the job
