E10

nounStandard termAutomotive

A motor fuel blend consisting of 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline.

A standard automotive fuel mixture containing 10 percent anhydrous ethanol and 90 percent unleaded gasoline. The ethanol acts as an oxygenate to reduce emissions and increase the octane rating, but it can degrade rubber fuel lines in older vehicles and attracts moisture if left sitting in a tank.

Don't leave E10 in the generator over the winter or the carb will gum up.
