A mechanical component on a power loom that propels the shuttle.

A mechanism, often utilizing a picker stick or pneumatic system, that strikes the shuttle to shoot it across the loom through the warp shed. It converts the rotary motion of the loom into the sudden linear force required to drive the weft carrier from one shuttle box to the other.
